AG.NIKOLAOS

The monastery of Aghios Nikolaos is a one of the and a half hour walk from Apoikia, at the head of of the lonely but lovely Achlas Valley. The monastery was probably built in the 16th and repairs were made in the 18th century. The monastery church ic of cross-in-square plan with a central dome. It is decorated with a very fine wooden screen, rekief carvings on the door and window frames, and some wall paintings.
